Mission: Lifeline was created by the American Heart Association in 2007 as a response to missed opportunities for prompt, appropriate STEMI treatment.

Our History Oct 21, 2008: 1st meeting of the Cardiac Task Force Led by Tim Aldrich, PhD from East TN State University, Baqar Husaini, PhD from TSU & Jean Saunders with AHA - Dr Steve Manoukian elected Chairman - Held meetings every other month 1st state-wide STEMI conference May 1, 2010 - Day of historic flood - Dr Tim Henry from Abbott Northwestern & Mayme Lou Roettig from RACE were speakers Dr David Chambers became Chairman 1st goal was to find out how many STEMI receiving centers were in TN Dr Ripley, Chair of Data worked closely with TN state department epidemiologists and created maps 11/17/2018 ©2010, American Heart Association

History (cont.) 2nd annual state-wide STEMI conference April 20, 2012 - Dr Harper Stone spoke on the Mississippi Experience East TN, led by Dr Stuart Bresee selected as site for Duke Accelerator program 3rd annual state-wide STEMI conference May 3, 2013 - Dr Jamie Jollis from Duke & RACE and Rich Lundy, VP of Cone Health in NC were guest speakers August 2013 - TN recognized as state system of STEMI care by the NCDR (National Cardiovascular Data Registry under the American College of Cardiology) and the Cardiac Task Force became TN Mission: Lifeline February 2014 – Mission: Lifeline 101 1st webinar for data abstractors hosted by Kevin Daniel from Northside Hospital System in Atlanta Dr Dan Munoz and Kevin Daniel now lead quarterly webinar meetings which discuss the state-wide ACTION system report and training for data abstractors 11/17/2018 ©2010, American Heart Association
