Retrovirus Restriction Factors Stephen P. Goff  Molecular Cell  Volume 16, Issue 6, Pages 849-859 (December 2004) DOI: 10.1016/j.molcel.2004.12.001

Figure 1 A Depiction of the Retrovirus Life Cycle and the Position of Blocks Generated by Known Dominant-Acting Restriction Factors Red is used to denote viral RNAs, and blue viral DNAs. The key steps in the viral life cycle are indicated at the left. The approximate positions of the blocks are indicated at the right. The genes responsible for these blocks are as follows: receptor block, Fv4, possibly SDF-1; uncoating block, TRIM5α (Lv1, Ref1); DNA deamination, APOBEC3G; trafficking block, Fv1; and RNA degradation, ZAP.
