Podcasting Using Audacity

What is a Podcast? A podcast is an audio broadcast available for download from a website to a personal computer or other device .

To create a podcast, you need software which allows you to record and edit audio. Audacity is a free program you can download from the web which will permit you to do this.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net After downloading and installing Audacity, you will need to download the LAME MP3 encoder.

Adding an Audio Welcome Message to Your Blog Plug in headphones Select a music clip from my blog page Right click on your music choice and “Save Target As” to save the file to your desktop Open Audacity program Select File, Open, and browse to music clip location

Select a place in the music clip to begin your welcome message Record your message When done, click File, Export As Mp3, My Documents, My Dropbox, Public, Save Go to your Dashboard for your blog Select the About Me page for your welcome message and click edit

Open My Documents, My Dropbox, Public Right click on your file and select Dropbox, Copy Public Link On the About Me page, place your cursor in the location you want your welcome message Type [audio Ctrl V] to add your message Save your edited page and view the result
