Class of 2022 September 5th, 6th, & 7th Club Getaway Class of 2022 September 5th, 6th, & 7th First overnight trip Great time, best behavior Behavior may influence next 4 years Teachers = chaperones Respect councelors ASK “How many of you have been to Frost Valley?” Frost Valley has many different programs We will be participating in the Adventure Program

Club Getaway Adventure resort in the Berkshire Mountains of Kent, Connecticut Teambuilding activities Appalachian Trail Ask: “Who can tell me where Frost Valley is located?” Large camping grounds in the Catskill Mountains Point to lake, log cabins Lots of teambuilding activities to get to know one another Build friendships Have a great time Lots of hiking trails No lights at night Bring flashlight

When Is Club Getaway? Arrive at BCA 8:00 A.M., Wed., Sept. 5th Have a parent or guardian drop you off in front of the Auditorium

What Do I Do When I Arrive At School That Day? Pick up your luggage tags at one of the tables in front of the Auditorium Write your name on of the luggage tag Tie a luggage tag to each bag Do NOT put your medications into your luggage Put your luggage on your designated bus for Club Getaway

Where Do I Go Next? Go into the AUDITORIUM and sit down Wait for your Bus Number to be called Attendance will be taken on the bus

What Should I Do If I Need to Take Medications? Bring all medications with you to the Auditorium when you arrive at school on Wednesday Meds will be collected at school and given to the BCA Nurse BCA Nurse will dispense all medications at Club Getaway

What Should I Do If I Need to Take Medications? Prescribed non-emergency medications NOT PERMITTED in your possession (including Tylenol and other over the counter medications) Parents and doctor must sign Medication Permission Request form Emergency medications, such as inhalers and EpiPens ARE PERMITTED Parents and doctor must sign Self-Medication Release form

How Long Does It Take To Get There? Two-hour bus ride No carry-on luggage Wear old clothes suitable for a Hike No time to change clothes We’ll be taking buses to Frost Valley Allowed up to 2 pieces of luggage Come to school early to get luggage tags and drop off bags Then go to Auditorium until time to board bus No carry on luggage, else you’ll have to take it with you on the hike, etc.

What Happens If I Carry My Luggage on the Bus? You’ll get tired carrying it on the hike!!!

What Happens When We Get There? Carry your luggage off the bus and wait for your camp counselor to give you directions Meet with camp counselors for further instructions about lunch and afternoon activities

What Kind of Food Do We Get? Wholesome varieties at each meal Plus Cereal Bar (breakfast) Salad Bar Afternoon and evening snacks

What If I’m Allergic To Something? Report all food restrictions and allergies on the form distributed to you at induction

What Happens After Lunch? Follow the schedule assigned to you on the day of the trip Bus Number Day and evening group activities If you are unable to perform the activity, you may go along and watch or ask Mrs. Marain to reassign you to another activity

What Do the Cabins Look Like? Hussey Time for lunch when we arrive Go to dining hall Luggage goes to cabins You won’t go to cabins until after your afternoon activity, just before dinner Talk about cabins and beds Need sleeping bag or sheets, pillow, and blanket

What Do the Cabins Look Like? Clean and neat Sheets, pillow, and blanket provided Indoor plumbing Bring towels, no amenities provided Toilet paper provided by Club Getaway Cabins should look the same when you leave as they did when you arrived

Are There Lights in the Cabins? All cabins have electricity Bring a flashlight if you wish

What Do We Do At Club Getaway? Have lots of fun!!! Develop comaraderie within your academy Build friendships with students outside your academy Behave Be on your best behavior at all times since this is your first field trip with BCA We will monitor your behavior closely If you misbehave, you may lose your privilege to attend future trips!
