Personalized Learning Dr. Salam Omar (PhD in Education)

Traditional Teaching

Personalized Learning It is the instruction that is tailored to meet the learners’ needs and interests.

What do we need to personalize? To meet the different needs of all students, teachers need to personalize: The learning objectives Content Teaching method

Components of a “Personalized Classroom.” A profile for each student. Personal learning paths for each student. Clear goals for each student. Flexible learning environments to enhance learning. Students have a voice (providing students with different choices of how, what where and when to learn. Technology can play an important role in enhancing personalized learning.

Personalized learning improves learning outcomes and allows teachers to focus on what really matters. A student’s interest in learning is enhanced when the student is given more opportunities to select topics and so , to have a kind of control over the learning methods and learning and resources.

What are the characteristics of personalized learning classrooms

Student-centered learning which develops learner’s autonomy and independence. Students move on when they’re ready. Teachers create opportunities for students to learn outside of the traditional classroom. Helping students to better understand their abilities, skills and their goals for the future. and their goals for the future.

Personalized learning gives teachers the ability to work either with each student or sometimes in small groups. Teachers spend less time preparing students for tests and more time acting as facilitators and guides to their students. It helps teachers to monitor students’ progress clearly and accurately.

Thank you
