Our QEP integrates strengths of service & research. Remember our goal is to help understand & propose solutions to local, national, & global problems. Faculty Development. First Day Activities Diane Smith has written a thoughtful essay on how to explain why taking courses in integrative studies is important. This is a writing instruction course. Why Am I Taking this Class? Read texts which require slow reading, from left to right, & annotation. Remind that whatever you do in life, you have to write clearly. It’s important to think & wrestle with what you believe and why you believe it. It’s important to define who you are & who you will become. Connect to course title. To help you develop deeper thoughts and make transition from high school writing to college writing. In high school, you wrote to show you know something. In college, writing is about thinking.
