Risk Assessments Workplace specific Type of Exposure – AFTER Continuous release/emission - where the total time the worker is exposed to the substance / contaminant is greater than three (3) hours, but less than / equal to eight (8) hours. Intermittent release/emission - where the total time the worker is exposed to the substance / contaminant is less than / equal to three (3) hours for the day Spill/accident – exposure is limited to unusual events During maintenance - One off exposure where the total time the worker is exposed to the substance / contaminant is less than / equal to fifteen (15) minutes for the day. Scale of use: – Minor Domestic - Small scale, infrequent use – Laboratory - Small scale, frequent use – Industrial/Commercial - Large scale, at any frequency of use

Other options: Isolated process - a barrier or remote control system between the chemical and the worker Enclosed - chemicals completely sealed off from worker PPE RECS (as shown on previous screens in the presentation)
