The Mock Trial

Mock Trials What do you know about courts, trials, and the roles of people involved in a case? Can you think of any examples of trials in the media, movies, books, or television?

The Project Students will participate in a trial, inspired by situations in a piece of literature they have read recently through the preparation of a persuasive case that documents the support for the arguments presented in the trial.

The Case Read Eudora Welty’s “A Worn Path.”

The Case Thinking about the characters from the story, make a list of possible crimes that might have been committed and their motivations for committing these crimes.
