Vocabulary Simile: a comparison using like or as Ex: She is as pretty as a picture. Metaphor: a direct comparison that states one thing is another. It is descriptive, not literal. Ex. He is an animal on the soccer field does not mean that the boy is really an animal, but it is a metaphor for how he plays soccer.
