During The Games Wednesday Control Room Set-up Meeting with Loughborough staff Signage Gazebos

Thursday Volunteers arrived Volunteer briefing, Rotas explained, H&S etc… Site tour for volunteers Walking tour ! Volunteers on duty and Competitors arrive from 2PM POWER-CUT – Schedules and rotas ruined ! Volunteers stand down at 10PM

AND THE BLOODY RADIOS PACKED IN Friday Just one day of competition so tight schedules Good communication was going to be key For updates, Requests for water Transport requests Medical Emergencies Equipment failure or replacement Requests for prize giving AND THE BLOODY RADIOS PACKED IN

Friday WhatsApp saved the day Everyone just pulled together and made it work A perfect example of teamwork

Would I Do It Again ? Pros and Cons Pros Being involved with a huge event Incredible support from everyone in Head Office An opportunity to test myself and push my limits New skills learned New Friends and spending time with old friends A huge sense of achievement Long Hours Mentally exhausting Didn’t see much other than the control room Lack of planning by some organisers Would I Do It Again ?
