1 - “I Want a New Server/Database!” Today Fill out this form. Fight about this form. Sort out permissions. Wait for the build. It’s built: “Oh crap, we need more resources.” It’s built: “Why are we paying so much?! We don’t need all this!” Buy DBA/Sysadmin lunch? DB as a Service Go to the portal. Choose options (size, performance need, region) Wait a few minutes. … Or execute a script

2. “Sure, we can build that Availability Group!” Dear Customer XyzOnPremise, We’re happy to offer this quote to you to analyze, build, train and deploy a three node SQL Server Availability Group for you. You presently have one copy of SQL Server enterprise without software assurance. You’ll need to obtain Software Assurance and purchase a second license for the third node. This quote is for services only based on our conversations. Thanks! Phase 1 – Analyze Current setup, performance, capabilities, network, help prepare environment and create detailed plan. 30-40 Hours on-site/remote. Will lapse over 2 weeks. Can start two weeks out. Phase 2 – Build, Test and Document the Availability Group. Provide Training. 60-80 Hours on-site/remote. Will lapse over 2 weeks.
