Week Beginning Monday 5th March 2018 Stations of the Cross

VIII Station: Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem who weep for him A Reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke 23:27-28 There followed him a great multitude of the people, and of women who bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children." Leader: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you, All: because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

How can we turn these tears into action and change? Thursday 8th March 2018 As Jesus meets the loyal women of Jerusalem, he tells them not to weep for him, but for themselves and their children. Sometimes tears are the only response we can offer to the realities we face. A moment of reflection How can we turn these tears into action and change? Pope Francis encourages us to “open our eyes and see the misery of the world, the wounds of our brothers and sisters who are denied their dignity, and let us recognise that we are compelled to heed their cry for help!”

by your incarnation from Mary, "Blessed among women" Let Us Pray Lord Jesus, by your incarnation from Mary, "Blessed among women" you raised the dignity of every woman. With the Incarnation you unified the human race. Lord, may the encounter with you be the desire of our hearts. Let our path, filled with sufferings, always be a path of hope, with you and towards you who are the refuge of our life and our Salvation. Amen.
