Industrial Revolution Unit 5 Industrial Revolution

Before the Industrial Revolution All work was done at HOME (cottage industry) Power was supplied by HUMANS and ANIMALS Before the Industrial Revolution

During the Industrial Revolution Began in England England had: Workers Raw materials (rivers, coal) Money The first inventions had to do with: Textiles and farming The Factory System: Most of the work was done by women and children Worked 12 – 14 hours a day and 6 days a week During the Industrial Revolution

After the Industrial Revolution Most people lived in cities (Urbanization) Work was no longer done by hand in people’s houses but in factories by machines Power was supplied by steam and water Cities were nasty Population increased People began to live longer After the Industrial Revolution
