Welcome to SIES Institute of Chromatography and Spectroscopy, Nerul East, Navi Mumbai (Committed to Excellence in Training in Chromatography and Spectroscopy) SIES Institute of Chromatography and Spectroscopy in collaboration with Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT) and Chromatographic Society of India (CSI) will be organizing a one week training in Chromatographic and Spectroscopic techniques. Date & Time: June 25- June 30, 2018 from 10.00 AM- 5.00 PM Venue: SIES Institute of Chromatography and Spectroscopy, Nerul East, Navi Mumbai. This coure is meant for college teachers and research scholars aspiring to become teachers. The topics will include lectures on General introduction to chromatography with special emphasis to HPTLC, GC, HPLC, GCMS ; General Introduction to spectroscopy with emphasis on UV-Vis, FTIR and NMR and their applications. Hands on training will be provided on GC, HPLC, GCMS, UV-Vis and FTIR instruments at the SIES-ICS. We will be arranging visit to Anchrome Enterprises in Mulund for HPTLC Theory and live demo. The faculty for training will be experts in their chosen fields.   We would like to restrict the number of participants to around 20 only as this will allow more contact time with the instruments. The preference for admission will be given to college teachers first and then the research scholars. KBP College, Vashi has kindly consented to accommodate lady teachers coming from outside Mumbai in their Ladies Hostel at a reasonable cost. Those interested may contact us and we in turn shall connect you with the KBP college authorities, who will help you with the accommodation. Our institute is only 10 minutes away from this college by auto or car.  SIES-ICS was inaugurated in December 2013 in Navi Mumbai with funding from SIES and with some support by the Analytical instrumentation companies as a industry academia partnership. SIES-ICS was found to fill the gap in building the capabilities of students and teachers in developing their understanding of the theory and operation of chromatography and spectroscopy instruments. Till today more than 250 college students from the B.Sc. and M.Sc. streams visited our institute to have lectures and demonstration of these instruments. Several 3 day workshops on GC/GCMS/HPLC/UV/FTIR have been conducted and more than 230 research scholars and industry chemists have been trained. One week workshop for teachers have been conducted 4 times and more than 110 teachers have benefited so far. Restricted Sample analysis and consultation are being carried out for Educational Institutions and industries that require additional help . Course Fee: The registration fee for the entire duration of training will be Rs. 5900 ( five thousand nine hundred only) . Life Members of ACT/ CSI will be eligible for a 10% discount on the total registration fees.
