Developing Evidence for Student SAE Growth SAE Competency VII

What Resources do we have? Student recordkeeping system State/National FFA Proficiency Award applications State/American FFA Degree applications Others…

What are the similarities among those resources?

Similarities Financials Scope and goals Skills and competencies Project story Others?

How can we be efficient… So that students, you as the teacher, and other see the growth year after year? So that students take advantage of their growth and success? Through the award systems For scholarship opportunities Etc. So that you have the data required for local and state reports So that you, as the teacher, have the program-level data that you need to promote the program Other needs…

Ideas for efficiency Possible data collection methods AET has individual and chapter reporting mechanisms Use State FFA Degree as the data collection method Require students to complete the state degree after annual record book close out Update each year thereafter At graduation time and beyond, student will have a repository as well as summary of SAE program. Other ideas/suggestions?

Strategies for summer and for students who aren’t continually in program Brainstorm ideas! Possible ideas include… Planned summer visits for all students Have a plan for what happens during those visits. Update record books monthly Allot time at beginning of school year to update summer months Also use this time for those who are student in the program but not enrolled in spring Use time in January Close out calendar year record books Catch-up time for those student who were not enrolled in fall semester Transfer record book summary to State FFA Degree application Others…

How would an SAE plan fit within… National Program Quality Standards for Secondary Agricultural Education? AFNR Career Clusters? College and Career Readiness Skills? Your need to develop a complete agricultural education program? Your need to be efficient and yet have program-level data to share with stakeholders?
