Development of writing cuneiform Definition- A system of writing used in the ancient Middle East developed by the Sumerians of Mesopotamia. It is one of the earliest known systems of writing. cuneiform writing began as a system of pictographs. In the third millennium, the pictorial representations became more simple as the number of characters in use grew smaller Development of writing

Temple of architecture The Ziggurat were massive structures built in the ancient Mesopotamian valley. Ziggurats were built by the Sumerians, Babylonians, Akkadians, and Assyrians. Each ziggurat was part of a temple which included other buildings. It was not a for public worship or ceremonies. They were believed to be the housing places for the gods and each city had its own patron god. Only priests were allowed in the ziggurat or the rooms, and it was their responsibility to care for the gods and attend to their needs. ziggurat
