Q: What if my idea isn’t selected? A: Join another team, remember, it’s not about the idea. Q: Can I still work on my idea if it’s not selected? A: Yes, ONLY IF you have more than two other people on the team. Q: Can I use any pitch props, slides, etc when pitching? A: Props are ok, but slides are not. Remember it’s short!

Hackfest Idea Pitch Hi, I’m (Name) and my idea/startup is (Idea/Startup Name) The problem I want solve is for (Target Market/Customer) (Problem). My solution is (Solution) To do this, we’ll need (Team) Let’s rock this Hackfest! The problem I want to solve is how young entrepreneurs often start a business without experience or a solid business education? My solution is to train them in the proper aspects of starting and running a business. To do this, we’ll need experienced entrepreneurs to be mentors

Hackfest Idea Pitch Hi, I am (Name) and my idea is (Idea/Startup Name) You know how… (Problem) Well what I want to do is… (Solution) So that (Target Market/Customer) can (relieve Pain) To do this, we’ll need (Team) You know how many entrepreneurs start a business without experience or a solid business education? Well what I want to do at LaunchYU is train them in the proper aspects of starting and running a business. So that these young entrepreneurs can feel confident growing their ventures. To do this, we’ll need experienced entrepreneurs to be mentors

Hackfest Idea Pitch - Examples You know how finding affordable parking is such a pain? Well what I want to do is create an app to allow home and condo owners to allow visitors to park in their driveways or reserved parking spots for short durations for a fee. So that the drivers can find comfortable parking spaces at an affordable price. To do this, we’ll need android developers and business people to make this a reality The problem I am trying to solve is for seniors who find it difficult to find appropriate senior care options based on their specific requirements My solution us is to create a platform for seniors to search through various care options curated by experience social workers. So that the seniors can feel safe and have peace of mind while selecting their long term care options To do this, we’ll need social workers with experience in senior care
