TEC Created in 2000 Located in College of Engineering Campus-wide entrepreneurship programs providing students and faculty with the skills, resources and experiences necessary to become successful innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders who tackle grand challenges and change the world TEC OFFERS: Courses Programs Experiences

Courses 13 Different Courses offered through TEC 9 Undergraduate & 6 Graduate 3 Undergraduate courses LLC specific Focus of courses: Overview of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Guest Lectures Projects Legal, Marketing, Finance, Venture-Funded Startups ~900 students take courses annually

Why Take TEC Courses? Build skill sets necessary to be entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial Network opportunities Receive a certificate Resume builder to show narrow focus and commitment to learning/honing skills

Certificates 3 undergraduate 2 graduate ILEE (Innovation, Leadership, and Engineering Entrepreneurship) 30 hours, including experiential Innovation Sequence of courses Technology Commercialization 2 graduate Business Management Strategic Technology Management

PROGRAMS ~5,000 student participants annually SocialFuse (Sept 8th) a pitching and networking event that brings students, faculty and community together and fuses them through skills, ideas, and entrepreneurial ambition Illinois Innovation Prize is awarded on an annual basis to the most innovative student on campus Cozad New Venture Competition designed to encourage students to create new businesses and offers teams assistance in the form of mentors to help guide them through the phases of venture creation, workshops to help with idea validation, pitching skills

COZAD NEW VENTURE COMPETITION 2014-2015 15th year; Campus-wide ~$160K in FUNDING and prizes Spans 4 months 2015 winners: PSYONIC & FlipWord TEC’s flagship Program: I list our sponsors from last year because it really is a community effort. Proud to note that most of the student companies and alumni panel companies participated and won awards in the Cozad New Venture Competition. And they are still here in Illinois. OrangeQC, StudyCloud, PrintECO, Oso Technologies, Cellular Diagnostics, Microlution, and Servabo are all here today. Again thanks for those groups here today that have participated in the past that have made it possible – like Joe Jablonski and WeGather, Origin Ventures, IllinoisVentures, HydePark Venture Partners, Lightbank, ITA, and TechNexus.
