Jesus Speaks Very Clear about Judging

Matt. 7:1-5 1Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye(CLEAN UP YOUR OWN HOUSE)—FIRST); and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Matt. 7:1-5 NKJV Do Not Judge 7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? 5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

The kind of forbidden judgment, is harsh ,cruel The kind of forbidden judgment, is harsh ,cruel ..when one fails to Consider himself FIRST. John 7:24 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment

Clean up your own house, first!

Hezekiah: Isa. 38:1ff Set thine House in order 2 Kings 20:1ff

Our own forgiveness is dependent upon our Forgiveness of others

Clean Up Your Own House - FIRST!!!! If you are Unwilling to forgive others, You will never be Forgiven by God. Consider what Jesus said:

Matt. 6:1212  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors Matt. 6:14 . 14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: 15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Clean Up Your Own House - FIRST!!!!

Listen to what Luke records about this teaching:

Luke 18:9-14 9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted

Why do these people think they are better than others--- Why this parable? Directed to those who trusted in themselves that they were Righteous and Despised others. Self-righteous (Take heed brethren, Heb.3:12) Why do these people think they are better than others--- They think they are righteous and actually detest others! Remember: He thanked God that he was not like other men. In his Eyes, look what he did not do!! 1. Extortion (cf blackmail) 2. Unjust 3. Adulterer 4. Or even as this Publican!!

Now look at what he did! 1. Fast twice a week 2. Gave tithes of all that he possessed! Well, what is his problem? He needed to clean up his own house before judging the Publican! In his eyes, he needed no mercy because of what a good person he was (as he saw it).

The Publican. He stood away off He did not lift up his eyes to heaven (probably ashamed of how he must have looked) Smote his breast!! And declared: God , be merciful to me a sinner.! What sins? How many sins? What were they? Public or Private Sins???

Verdict! How did God look at these prayers Jesus said: (And that is what really matters) I TELL YOU… (all matters settled by…thus saith the Lord! ) I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted

For All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Rom. 3:23

David: 2 Sam. 11:ff He had committed adultery with Bathsheba He had Uriah , Bathsheba’s husband, killed (told Joab//// 2 Sam.12:verse 7 Thou art the man… I have sinned against the Lord. (Cf. Joseph Gen.39:7) A King! What David said would not be enough for some people today. They have all kinds of demands on condition of pardon! ) Clean up your own house – First !

A man living with his father’s wife! I Cor 5:1:ff 2 Cor. 2:6-10  Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. 7 So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow. 8 Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him. 9 For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things. 10 To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

Will you forgive me , I’m sorry for all my sins: A list of your sins: If a person had to mention Every sin , What if you forgot one…? I have sinned … covers them all!!

Forgiven by God! Forgiven by Me! Yesterday is a closing door and You don’t live there any more! Clean up your own house- First!!

“When you look down on others, You put yourself on a pedestal.. Take Heed lest you fall!”

John 8 :1-11 . Woman taken in the very act of adultery. (He that is without sin, let him cast the first stone!!!) (Sinners condemning another Sinner!) Clean up your own house - first!

Remember Simon??? Acts 8:22-24 -24 Then Simon answered and said, “Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”NKJV Clean up Your Own house…First!

We want to clean our own house…first! How do we get rid of our sins?

1. Ever lied. Said you were sick, and you were not 1. Ever lied? Said you were sick, and you were not. To whom, when, and how many times? 2. Ever missed worship when you could have been present But you chose not to come? How many times? 3. Ever burned your own house to collect the insurance? After 15 years, you confess it. 4. Ever Watched R rated movie? How bad does it have to Get before it is wrong??

Some never come forward… (and sometimes they Complain about others who come forward several Times…) CLEAN UP YOUR OWN HOUSE, FIRST> If you don’t forgive, you will never be forgiven! Words of Jesus. Do you believe Him? Mtt. 6:14 Little sins; big sins; private sins; public sins… James 5:16 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much I John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Clean Up Your Own House,- First!

Is your house clean? Have you taken the steps to = first - to clean it up? Look at yourself and get right with God? You can’t die right, if you don’t live right! And you don’t live right if you don’t do right!
