in the H2020 (... short reminder). A few words about European research infrastructures (including e-Infrastructures) in the H2020 (... short reminder). Research infrastructures are high level facilities, resources and services (provided through a legal institute / e.g. “ERIC”) that are used by the research communities to conduct research and foster innovation in their fields (where relevant, they may be used beyond research, e.g. for education or public services). NOTE:European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) is a specific legal form to facilitate the establishment and operation of research infrastructures with European interest. Research infrastructures are also key in helping Europe to lead a global movement towards open, interconnected, data-driven and computer-intensive science and engineering. e-Infrastructures will make every European researcher digital, increasing creativity and efficiency of research and bridging the divide between developed and less developed regions. Integrating Activities of ERI (with respect to the European Charter for Access to Research Infrastructures) shall combine, in a closely co-ordinated manner: (i) Networking activities, to foster a culture of co-operation between research infrastructures, scientific communities, industries and other stakeholders as appropriate, and to help develop a more efficient and attractive European Research Area; (ii) Trans-national access or virtual access activities, to support scientific communities in their access to the identified key research infrastructures; (iii) Joint research activities, to improve, in quality and/or quantity, the integrated R&D services provided at European level by the infrastructures. All three categories of activities are mandatory as synergistic effects are expected from these different components.

Development strategies of the ERIs are professionally guaranteed through "roadmape-s" processed by ESFRI (the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures). Currently (from ESFRI roadmape 2016), in cooperation with eIRG (e-Infrastructure Reflection Group), these "roadmape-s" also process the e-Infrastructure Development Strategy with direct link to ERIs needs. NOTE: ESFRI, is a strategic instrument to develop the scientific integration of Europe and to strengthen its international outreach. The competitive and open access to high quality Research Infrastructures supports and benchmarks the excellence of the activities of European scientists, and attracts the best researchers from around the world. The mission of e-IRG is to support both coherent, innovative and strategic European e-Infrastructure policymaking and the development of convergent and sustainable e-Infrastructure services. In developing this Roadmap 2016, ESFRI identifies, with considering to the mission of the H2020 programme, new RIs, or the major upgrades of existing ones, through transparent and cooperative procedures involving all EU Member States and the Associated Countries. The aim is to complete their implementation within a maximum of one decade and to reach sustainability for the long term operation therefore assuring maximum return on investment in terms of science, knowledge, innovation, training, socio-economic benefits and competitiveness. The Roadmap 2018 submission process will remain open until August, 31st and welcomes submissions of new proposals. Following the official presentation of the ESFRI Roadmap 2018 update process at ICRI2016 in Cape Town, and the Roadmap 2018 Info Day in Malaga, The ESFRI ROADMAP 2018 GUIDE offers support to proposers preparing a submission and to the Projects and Landmarks involved in the update procedure. And there is the Questionnaire for submission of proposals for roadmap 2018.  

SK Roadmap for Research Infrasructures ???
