Learning Objectives and Integration

How can we encourage the school community to use less energy? Driving Question How can we encourage the school community to use less energy?

Artifact Students will create posters. Students will make Public Service Announcement videos to share.

Topics and Focus

Weather Kindergarten – analyzes and interprets weather data to describe patterns. Fourth grade – analyzes and interprets weather data through observation and measurement to predict changes over time. Will look at weather’s connection to energy use.

Energy use Kindergarten will be recording data and making graphs. Fourth grade will analyze data, analyze electric bills. And use math to solve real world problems related to the data.

Conservation Efforts Kindergarten – posters to show how to save energy Fourth grade – Analyze how energy use effects people, plants, and animals and how conservation will affect the future of all.

Plants and Animals Both grades study plants and animals. Will look at habitats as well as how climate changes are forcing plants and animals to adapt.

Audience Posters – School Community Public Service announcements – school community and Internet for others.

Students will present to parents at school math night
