Competition Competitors for the meets will be determined based on performance in practice. There are a limited number of entries per event at each meet.

Equipment The school will issue meet participants: Sweat top and bottom Meet top and bottom Spiked shoes for those who qualify for sprinting/jumping events. The athlete will be responsible for a replacement charge for any equipment not returned or damaged at the end of the season.

Transportation All athletes are expected to ride the bus to and from meets. A parent MUST sign out his/her child on the coach’s sign out sheet any time they take the student home from any meet other than meets taking place at Klein Collins Stadium.

Practices Boys and girls will work out M-W from 7:20-8:35 A.M. Fridays 8:00-8:35 A.M. In case of inclement weather, practice will be held in the school building.

Calendar in Packet Please refer to calendar for meet times, sites, & practice times. Please be prompt when picking your child up after a meet.

Injuries Report to coach immediately. Klein Collins trainer is available for morning treatment by appointment. At most meets, a trainer or EMS is on duty. Coaches need to fill out injury forms so we must be informed.

Hydration Drink plenty of water before, during, and after practice. Stay away from carbonated drinks or drinks containing caffeine. Sports drinks with a blend of carbohydrates and electrolytes can be beneficial for re-hydration.

Nutrition Eat lots of fruits (bananas, oranges, apples, etc.) Stay away from greasy or fried foods especially right before a contest. Eat 3 good meals a day. Eat a light breakfast and a snack after practice

No Pass - No Play Any F’s on report card result in student becoming ineligible Remains ineligible for 3 weeks May regain eligibility by passing all courses at progress report time

Discipline Athletes are expected to attend all practices if attending school that day. Continued discipline problems will result in removal from team. Parent will be called first. ISS – May not play or practice on the day assigned to ISS.

Insurance KISD has a policy on every athlete in the program with a $500 deductible. It is a primary plan only if you do not have other insurance. More info available at the table.

Game Day Food Orders Jimmy Johns 281-205-7987 6011 FM 2960 $7.00 or $8.60 Order forms are in your packet. Order by phone with a credit card or visit the restaurant by 11:00 AM the day before the meet. VERY IMPORTANT: Order weekly because your athlete may not be attending every meet.

Closing Inform the coach when your child must miss practice. Monitor your child’s grades. Keep schedule handy. Check web sites for meet day information, any canceled practices, or meets, etc. We will also use REMIND texts.

Reminders: Pick up any forms needed. Remember order deadlines – Feb 8th Come out and support your Timberwolves. Thank you for your attendance!
