Cell Lab

Procedure Take out a sheet of paper and fold it so you have four equal squares, then unfold it. Label the middle top of your sheet “CELL LAB” and put your name at the top right Label the top of each square with one of the following: Onion Skin, Cheek, Potato, Tomato

Procedures Prepare a slide for one of the 3. Only do ONE AT A TIME. Onion – Use one drop of IODINE Cheek – Gently Scrape cheek, add one drop of IODINE Elodea – Just the leaf tip, add water Look at the sample under the scope Remember, start under low power, low light

Examples

Procedure Draw a picture of 3 cells for each sample. Label cell parts Use the whole box, make the pictures big Label cell parts Onion Skin – Cell Wall, Nucleus, cytoplasm Cheek – Cell Membrane, Nucleus, cytoplasm Elodea – Cell wall, chloroplasts, cytoplasm Clean up slide and paper towels between each sample
