NC State Alcohol & Other Drug Prevention Education Program’s Vision and Mission Our Mission: The mission of the Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Education Program is to create and sustain a caring community that prepares students to succeed academically, professionally, and personally as well as to become informed, engaged, and productive citizens by reducing the potential unwanted results of substance misuse. Our Approach: We are rooted in objectivity, compassion, and non judgment. Although we support community members that choose to live an abstinent lifestyle, we do not use an abstinence based methodology or believe in telling others how to live their lives. We cannot condone underage drinking or illicit drug use as this would mean we are advocating for individuals to break the laws of North Carolina. However, we do understand that some community member’s personal choices do not abide by the law on this topic. We are here to reduce the harm and unwanted consequences associated with alcohol and other drug use.

Vision/Mission Summary Through compassion, objectivity, and nonjudgement we are here to reduce the harm & unwanted consequences associated with alcohol & other drug use.

Next is what to do if someone is alcohol or drug overdosed Next is what to do if someone is alcohol or drug overdosed. We have a large scale marketing initiative going for the Howl For Help protocol and it would be helpful if you can help promote this community safety message. Below are some slides that contain images you can use. If you want to know more about the Health Intervention For Alcohol and Other Drug-Related Emergencies (Howl For Help) you can go here or contact us directly. The next two slides are available on cardstock with a removable Howl For Sticker.

The next two slides are to help people understand how to drink safely if they choose to drink. We can provide this on cardstock if you want them.

The next slide is a flyer to help other’s understand that there is something they can do if another person’s drinking is causing them difficulties. Learn more here. We can come do a program for this topic (or any other topic really) if you want.

The next two slides are available on card stock if you want them The next two slides are available on card stock if you want them. They are to promote our NC State students who’s drinking/drug use did not work for them and they are looking for a supportive organization to join that addresses issues with recovery. You can learn more and see how students can sign up here.
