Neil C. Mitchell, SEAES, The University of Manchester, UK Morphologic similarities between continental slopes and subaerial landscapes. Neil C. Mitchell, SEAES, The University of Manchester, UK • Submarine canyon long-profiles are similarly upwards-concave, follow Playfair's law at confluences and have similar diversity of knickpoint morphologies to streams. • Smooth submarine landscapes can have similar topographic characteristics to lowland soil-mantled diffusive landscapes. Observations prompt a search for common mathematical behavior in the two environments. USA Atlantic coast Southern Santa Cruz Mountains, CA Data: NOAA USGS
