Dear readers, Is time of the good things and the bad things about what is happening this week. This week, there was no real bad news ( except for the fact that I have a ton of homework to do) everything was good. The good thing is that there is this beautiful musical play which occur on Friday and Saturday and that is called the Wizard of Oz. Even though this is a good event in the school there is the Valentine’s Dance that is even better. At the beginning I thought there was nothing happening in the school this but I was wrong when I heard about the musical and the Dance. Editor, Oscar Thielan

The Article Literacy events in February Did you know this week is Nonfiction week? That means we get a special week about nonfiction. Also, we have some events. On Tuesday, we will make a poster with some interesting facts. Also, we have ‘Guest Reader’. We will interview someone to find facts. After that, we will have a big event. That’s musical, ‘The Wizard of Oz’. There are lots of students who are performing. It is on Friday, February 24th. And it starts at 7 o’clock, after school. We need to bring 800 tenge to watch it. (The middle school dance party takes place on Friday, February 24th, too.) After that, next week is Biography Week. We have Spelling Bee for 7,8,9 years old students on Monday. Also, we have Quote competition. Elementary students can go to the library and middle school students can go to the middle school building. Then on Wednesday, we can interview a classmate or a teacher and write a biography. Thursday, March 2 is Dr. Seuss’s birthday. So in Friday, March 3 we will dress up to look like Dr. Seuss’s character or our favorite author. What about a little Interview I took this interview because I have a friend that who is working hard for musical, so I wonder how she feels. Q. Why are you performing for the musical “Wizard of Oz?” Because my teacher told me to do it. Q. How long did it take you to memorize all the script? 2~3days Q. Have you ever performed before? No I haven't. Q. Don’t you feel shy in front of people? No, never. Q. How many times did you practice at all? As many time as I needed, until I got good. (Continued on p. 4) cdn.theculturetrip.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/wizard-of-oz-original1.jpg.

Q. Which character are you? Monkey, which is a soldier in musical. Q. What do you think about this musical? Good, because I never had this kind of musical before. Q. Have you got any trouble while you were preparing? Yes, I didn't follow teacher’s directions. Q. Weren't you feel tired when you need to come to school for a lots of time even on Saturdays? No, it was fun for me to go to school because of my friend. Q. Were you in trouble by speaking English because you are in I.E. class so you didn’t know some emotions or actions that you need to do? Yes. I had problems with words that I don't know so I needed lot of help. Q. Do you think it’ll be a good musical? Yes! Conclusion: My goal is to inform others how fun, how interesting life of the cast is, so next time many people can try, to make people feel brave by performing on musical. Interviewer: Hey Rin Lee
