Verbal Linguistic My name is Judy, but my real name is Judith. My mom wanted to name me Gretchen, but my dad wanted Judy. My mother told me that story many times, so I guess she really wanted Gretchen. My middle name is the same as my mom’s. When I was in middle school, I changed the y to i and then I put a Over the i. Don’t you think that is cool? I didn’t really do that very long because I just kept forgetting, When my big brother found out, he make fun of me so I wanted to stop. My family name is Walz. It is German and I was ok with it. When I got married I decided to change my name to Fitzpatrick. It is an Irish name and I am part Irish so that was fine, too. I kind of like being closer to the front of the alphabet. It is annoying to always be at the back of everything and be called last.

Interpersonal What is your real name, Mamu? It is Judy. My mom wanted to name me Gretchen, but my dad wanted Judy. What about Fitzpatrick? You and Daddy and I all have the same last name. Yes, we do. Your Papa’s name is Fitzpatrick and when I got married I changed my name to that. I like that it is Irish because I am Irish, too. And so are you! Can we play legos now?

Intrapersonal I really like my name, Judy. I don’t like Judith so much. I wonder why I don’t hear about people naming their children Judy. I am very glad I wasn’t named Gretchen like my mom wanted. I think that Fitzpatrick is better than my maiden name, Walz, and I am glad I got it when I got married. Everyone spelled Walz wrong and it was at the end of the alphabet which was boring.

Nature My dad liked this name. Judy Fitzpatrick I got this name when I got married.
