The Americas The Incas of South America The Incas had roads, cities, and records. The Aztecs of Mexico The Aztecs had cities, pyramids, calendars and written records. Before Europeans came, many Native Americans had strong empires in the Americas.
Europe Most European countries (France, England, Portugal, Spain) in the 1400s were ruled by kings and queens. Europeans were making improvements in science. The Europeans also began to explore.
ASIA In the 1400s some Asian countries such as China began exploring the world. Chinese ruler Yong Le paid for many ocean voyages. After Yong Le died, the Chinese decided to keep themselves apart from the rest of the world so they stopped exploration.
Africa Many strong empires existed in Africa in the 1400s because of trading. Such as the Mali empire and Songhay Empire. Gold and ivory were two goods that many other countries (like China and India) wanted!
