How to Mesh the Wing-T and Off-Set I Tim Pruitt Glazier, 2007 Baltimore

Foundation and Philosophy Series Based. Alignment Take advantage of your personnel (blocker – FB or HB). Downhill runs and play action passes. Blocking rules do not change. Steps are the same. Adds more dimensions to your offense.

SERIES BASICS 10 – SPRINT 20 – GUARD TRAP, BUCK SWEEP AND WAGGLE 30 – POWER AND POWER PASS 40 – COUNTER GT AND COUNTER TRAP OPTION 50 – BELLY, COUNTER TRAP, GUARDS AND WAGGLE 60 – GT, TRAP OPT AND VERTICALS 70 – DRAW AND DRAW PASS 80 – DOWN, TOSS AND GUARDS 90 – 3 STEP

POINTS OF ATTACK 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

ALIGNMENT Offensive Line – 2 x 2 x 3 Fullback – 4 ½ yards in GT gap Halfback – 5 ½ to 6 yards behind the center

PERSONNEL 2005 – Fullback was a two-year starter at guard (5’10,225). Good trap runner and could catch the ball in the flats. Number one responsibility was to block. 2006 – Fullbacks were smaller, not as strong and thus could not block as well. Good trap runners and hands.

Downhill Runs Belly (53/57). Power (32/38). Counter Trap (52/58). Guards (52/58).

Play Action Passes Waggle (53/57). Belly Keep (51/59). Power Pass (31/39). Waggle Solid (75).

Blocking Rules Belly to TE or SE. Calls - TOM or CHARLIE. Fullback ISO on PSB. Power to TE. DGB or BO, BSG pull and we can down block the 7 or ARC. Fullback is the kicker. Counter Trap or Guards to TE or SE. Same blocking rules as power. Guard is the kicker.

STEPS Belly Steps Power Steps QB : 5 or 7 o’clock FB : inside foot at target HB : crossover (inside hip of PST) Power Steps QB : 4 or 8 o’clock FB : outside foot at tackle and pivot HB : downhill (outside hip of PST)

Multi-Dimensional Other schemes that we run from the off-set, include: Trap and Trap Option Draw and Draw Pass Down and Down Option Toss and Toss Guards
