Change! Series 2

BEHAVIORAL CHANGE! Attitude Change Urgent Change Relational Change Difficult Change

Easily Offended? Reading: MAT 5:21-26

Spirit of the Law: Not just about the actual murder Spirit of the Law: Not just about the actual murder. But about anger and what you feel, say & do! Danger of Anger: Danger of judgment & hell!, v22 Disturbed worship, v23-24 Damaged social life, v25-26

1CO 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Easily Offended?

Pictures: Bad tempered & impatient. Touchy and hyper-sensitive. Easily irritated & overreacting. Unforgiving & indignant. Unreasonable & does not listen. Vengeful, loud & intense. Abusive in words and action. Feeling superior with hurt ego. Always right and never wrong. Cannot forgive & hard-hearted.

“Easy?” I’m right & feel justified. It’s not the actual murder. The idiot deserves it. I can control myself. It’s not a crime. I’m the leader. I’m a Christian.

Who are They? Mostly emotional Carnal, immature saints Think they are targeted Don’t listen properly Don’t value relationship Fools with no fear of God,

Wait a minute.. How do you tell someone they're so easily offended, without offending them?

No Value in Anger! JAM 1:19-20 My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.

..Because of the hardness of your heart! –MAT 19:8

Same Shame..

Proverbs 18:19 (NLT) “An offended friend is harder to win back than a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with bars.”

PRO 19:11 (AMP) “Good sense makes a man restrain his anger, and it is his glory to overlook a transgression or an offense.”

Eph 4:26-27 (living) 26 if you are angry, don't sin by nursing your grudge. Don't let the sun go down with you still angry-- get over it quickly; 27 for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil.

PRO 29:11 “a fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man quietly holds it back.” " a confident fool utters all his anger, but a wise man keeps it back and stills it.“ -AMP

Review: Inherent Change: Deal with blindness first. Die to all Self Promotion. Draw near to God for change. Devote change from within. Derive the outward from within.

ROM 12:18-21 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19 Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. 20 On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.“ 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Experience Change! Repent, from your heart. Forgive, every offense. Yield, to the Spirit, for fruit. Fear God. Love, even the undeserving.
