The Last Day of School Are we there yet?

The Sun … Don’t Be Afraid Like all things, in moderate amounts, it’s good. A little bit is beneficial A lot can be harmful

Ultraviolet (UV) rays UV rays a part of sunlight an invisible radiation. UV rays can penetrate and change the structure of skin cells.

Sunscreen is a great tool: It helps limit (reduce) the amount of solar radiation you “consume”

Who doesn’t get this?

Which Brand of Sunscreen? The final choice is up to you. But, here are some brands to consider (From Consumer Reports 2016):

If you insist on using a spray on sunscreen … Trader Joe's Spray SPF 50+ 100% score $1.00 per ounce … $6.00 each

Again, I would avoid the spray on sunscreens. But if you insist … Banana Boat SunComfort Continuous Spray SPF 50+ 97% score $1.67 per ounce … $10.00 each

What am I going to buy? Walmart Ultra Protection SPF 50 Lotion It’s got a 94% score … rated “Excellent” And it’s very economical (read cheap) $0.49 per ounce … $7.85 each If I were forced to use a Sunscreen Spray Trader Joe's Spray SPF 50+ Spray It’s got a 100% score And it’s the most economical of the sprays $1.00 per ounce … $6.00 each

And use it. Do your own research … Buy whatever you think is best. Just buy something … And use it.

Before you use “last year’s” Sunscreen …

Remember, it only works if you are wearing it! Apply it 30 minutes before you go outside. Reapply at least every 2 Hours. every 30 minutes if you are swimming every 90 minutes if you are sweating
