Romeo and Juliet Family Tree

The Montague Family Lord Montague is married to Lady Montague Their only child is named Romeo (loves to be in love/15 to 17 years old). Romeo’s servant’s name is Balthasar. Benvolio is Romeo’s kinsman (cousin) and friend. Benvolio is a peacekeeper. Abraham another servant of the Montague family who fights with the Capulets at the beginning of the play.

The Capulet Family Lord Capulet is married to Lady Capulet. Their only child is named Juliet. Juliet is 13 years old. Juliet’s servant is the Nurse. Juliet trusts her nurse and has a closer relationship than Juliet and her own mother. Peter is the personal servant to the Nurse. Juliet’s cousin’s name is Tybalt. Tybalt is confrontational. He loves to fight. Gregory and Sampson are two servants of the Capulets seen in the beginning of the play fighting with the Montagues.

Royalty The Prince – he is basically like the mayor or police chief of Verona, Italy. He ensures the laws are followed in Verona. Paris – is a wealthy kinsman of the Prince. He wants to marry Juliet. Mercutio-is also a kinsman of the Prince, but works for both families. He is loyal to Romeo because he is Romeo’s BFF

Churchmen Friar Lawrence – Romeo’s mentor. Romeo goes to Friar Lawrence for advice. He is the priest who marries Romeo and Juliet. Friar John – Works at the church with Friar Lawrence. He is given a really important job. Others Chorus – Somewhat like the narrator. Only comes in during the prologues to Acts I and II. Sets up the events of the play. Apothecary – an illegal pharmacist. He creates medicine and poisons using nature. Similar to a drug dealer. He sells Romeo poison.
