Field Data Required (more or less) Timberpad allows you to collect more variables than TallTimber needs or even can use (X-Y’s, stocking class, plot notes, tree notes, etc.). Timberpad can be used to collect your data as a stand alone option. TallTimber generally requires the below variables, they need to be within a range of formats. This table has the headers needed for spreadsheet data to be imported. The formatting is discussed with videos and on p. 4-8 in the TallTimber manual. Houston…we have a problem! Creating software solutions with an easy User Interface (UI) is hard…even when the subject is not technical. Forestry is technical and the software has been difficult to use. Better, Faster, Cheaper is the standard we expect from tools if we are to adopt them. Forestry software has been difficult, and certainly not faster. We think TallTimber is a step forward in this regard, but it is like having charm, you don’t get to decide if you have it or not. Operating Systems and Versions Timberpad is data collection software currently for: Android devices (Samsung tablets $69-99, phones $25-30, requires DroidDB $5 download) Older devices with Windows CE (Trimble, Dell, etc) TallTimber is inventory processing and growth integration software. Requires MS Access OR the FREE Access Runtime Android tested back to Jelly Bean (vsn 4.1) Demo licenses have no time limit, 6 cruise points for TallTimber with no stratification.
