Project 7: Modeling Social Network Structures and their Dynamic Evolutions with User- Generated Data from IoT REU Student: Emma Ambrosini Graduate mentors: Marzieh Edraki Faculty Mentor(s): Dr. Guo-Jun Qi Week 2 (May 29 – June 2, 2017) Accomplishments: Read 2 research papers on Generative Adversarial Networks Unsupervised Learning & Deep Convolutional GANs Wasserstein GANs Examined code for a CD-GAN that I will start off with, began getting familiar with it & identifying different functions Read explanatory article on this specific DC-GAN (along with the research paper) to get a better idea of how it works Created a Jay account, so that I can access campus resources for running Tensorflow & the GAN code via mobaXterm Issues/problems encountered and solutions (if any): Tensorflow was not installed on Jay, so I was unable to run the code initially as a test Plans for next week: Continue with reading and summarizing research papers in the area of machine learning, reviewing previous papers and resources Continue brushing up on Python, examining the code I was given this week Meet with graduate Mentor again, discuss code & articles Continue reviewing previous articles Try running the code now that Tensorflow is installed on Jay NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2017
