RGB imaging system has been developed and tested. It can be used for mapping of hemoglobin changes in skin, distinguishing both types – oxy- and deoxy-hemoglobin. For simpler approximation in dynamic measurements, the OD signal of R channel can be attributed to deoxy-hemoglobin concentration changes, G and B channels to total hemoglobin, and the G and R channel signal difference to oxy-hemoglobin. Additionally to direct signal (dc) analysis, oscillating signal could be extracted and analyzed to obtain PPG amplitude changes that correspond to blood flow variations. The system can be used for observation of dynamic process like occlusions, as well as for chromophore concentration mapping of vascular malformations; consequently, it has a promising potential for skin diagnostics. Simplicity of parameter computing allows real-time measurement implementation.
