The Impact that Environment has on us Nature vs. Nurture The Impact that Environment has on us

Feral Children Also known as wild children or wolf children, are children who've grown up with minimal human contact, or even none at all. They may have been raised by animals or somehow survived on their own. In some cases, children are confined and denied normal social interaction with other people.

Wild Dog Girl  Oxana Malaya (Born November 4, 1983) Oxana has been the subject of documentaries, interviews, and tabloid headlines as being a feral child "raised by dogs” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR-cWZ4CChI

The Girl in the Window Danielle Lierow's story On July 13, 2005, Detective Mark Holste of Florida's Plant City Police Department responded to a call from a neighbor who had seen a mysterious, pale little girl peer out of a broken window in a rundown rental house. For three years, the neighbor hadn't seen a child in the home or yard, and was concerned that the child may be a victim of neglect. When Holste arrived at the residence, he wasn't prepared for what he saw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_IBGS1FQw4

Secret of the Wild Child: The Story of Genie

Genie’s Story Genie (born 1957) is the alias of a feral child who was the victim of extraordinarily severe abuse, neglect and social isolation. Her circumstances are recorded prominently in the annals of abnormal child psychology. Born in Arcadia, California, United States, Genie's father kept her locked alone in a room from the age of 20 months to 13 years, 7 months, almost always strapped to a child's toilet or bound in a crib with her arms and legs completely immobilized. During this time she was never exposed to any significant amount of speech, and as a result she did not acquire a first language during childhood. Her abuse came to the attention of Los Angeles child welfare authorities on November 4, 1970.

Secret of the Wild Child: The Story of Genie Why did the doctors name her Genie? In what conditions was she found in? Were these suitable conditions for a young girl? How was she developmentally stunted?
