Douglas Colliery - contractor control system EXPANSION OF THE PERMIT TO WORK CONCEPT Modified permit system has been introduced to mine employees working over week-ends All week-end work is planned and authorised by the relevant Manager or Engineer. Risk assessments for the jobs to be done are attached to the permission. Persons required to do the jobs are identified. Risk assessments are signed for by the persons doing the job. If there is no risk assessment, it is done and documented before the job commences. A record of all week-end work is kept and stand-bye personnel check compliance.
