Food Preparation and Nutrition Year 9 Food Preparation and Nutrition In year 9 you will have the opportunity to study foods and food products in depth You will; Make a range of products Learn new food skills Use different equipment Carry out market research Examine existing products Find out about healthy eating Investigate how foods are made in the food industry This year will help you develop the skills needed to study Food Preparation and Nutrition in KS4 to achieve a GCSE. Year 9 Fashion and Textiles During this year you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and understanding in textiles through two different projects with two focused practical tasks. Exploring a theme for each project you will have the opportunity to create an item for the home and to make a simple garment.   Skills covered: Colouring Fabrics Surface Embellishment Joining Fabrics Fabric Manipulation Construction Techniques This year will give you a good foundation to continue onto a creative qualification such as a textiles based GCSE or vocational option or a GCSE in Art.
