Lesson Five vocabulary Words Story: Stormalong

seafaring -Earning one’s living at sea The seafaring life of a fisherman is difficult.

tidal -related to or affected by the tide. The man tried to protect the sand castle from the tidal wave.

foaming -full of bubbles that form in a liquid such as soap The foaming bubbles began to spill onto the floor.

outcast -A person blocked from participation in a group or society The man felt like an outcast because he did receive a Valentines Day Card.

yearning -A deep longing or strong desire The man had a yearning to visit his grandmother.

memorable -Worthy of being remembered The trip to the Grand Canyon was memorable .

betrayed -to be unfaithful to When the boy heard the secret his friend had told, he knew he had been betrayed.

condition -a general health and fitness Athletes train before a competition so they are in good condition.

shortage -not enough They could not take the long car trip because of the shortage of gas in their tank.
