Human Condition Unit Test (M.C. & Written bonus) Agenda (for me) Human Condition Unit Test (M.C. & Written bonus) Finish “class matters” reading & response HW: Vocab Quiz 9 Friday

Reminders – 4-19-18 Upcoming ATSS/Rhetoric Unit Test – today! Vocab Quiz Unit 9 – tomorrow, 4/20 Photo Essays – Monday, 4/23 (in Google Drive by 8:00 AM) / Presentations Mon (4/23) & Tues (4/24) **Need a copy of Outliers (Malcolm Gladwell) by Monday! First reading will be due next Wednesday!

After test, finish Class Matters assignment: “When the Joneses Wear Jeans” (p. 134-145) Read the chapter, “When the Joneses Wear Jeans” (p. 134-145) What is the “problem” discussed? (State it clearly.) Is there a solution to the “problem”? If yes, what is it? If no, why not? What is the author’s main argument? How does she communicate that argument? (Pull in examples of ethos, pathos, logos from the chapter. You could make a chart…hint hint!) Reading purpose questions: How is our definition of success constructed? How has the definition of success changed over time? Be prepared to discuss and cite evidence throughout.
