Weekly Current Events Today you will work on and submit your first Weekly Current Event! Current events will be completed online only. Go to the blog and locate the “Class Websites and Codes” link at the top of the home page. Scroll down and locate “Current Events” Click on the “Current Events Weekly Assignment Directions” link. Read the document. Search for your first article using the listed periodicals. Use the remainder of the class period to: Work on your current vocabulary.com list that is due on September 12th. Come to me or consult with a friend on getting signed up for turnitin.com or vocabulary.com if you were unable to last week. Read silently. This will become a daily expectation, so get a feel for it now. You may choose a book from the shelf, but please return it. Write down the name of the book you chose. Begin to take notes on your chosen book. Everyone should be occupied. An idle mind is Negativity’s workshop!

FYI Your first quiz will be this Thursday/Friday. It will consist of a passage and six questions. Make sure you are paying attention to your current vocabulary words…
