Friday, November 14th, 2017 Standards: Assess how POV or purpose shapes a test Target: Students will create their own bag of encouragements that foreshadow what will happen. Activator: Bags Work: RRJ and topics Closing: Vocab activity

Today we are going to start with classroom encouragement bags Today we are going to start with classroom encouragement bags. I went out and bought these bags that will hold words of encouragements. I have a bag for each of you which you will create, and decorate. Makes sure your name is on these bags! Just write something sweet down, NOTHING RUDE!!!! It can be, you have nice hair, great ideas yesterday in class, I like your outfit etc... Ms. T and I have our own bags as well. Drop some discussion topics that you want to talk about and this is how we will start each class period for the rest of this novel

RRJ Ms. T has a paper to pass out. We are going to start a reader response journal This will be a quiz grade All the charts should be completed by the end of this text. Here is your first prompt: Make sure you write down the prompt Are the characters realistic (do they seem like they could be real people)? Why or why not?

After 45 minutes of creating and writing notes then RRJ we are going to create a timeline of events that have happened so far. I am going to pull out a couple discussion topics from my bag that we will take the rest of the class period to discuss.
