INTERNET LITERACY and E-SAFETY

The ability to use digital technology, communication tools or networks to locate, evaluate, use and create information and the ability to understand and use information in multiple formats from a wide range of sources when it is presented via computers. Internet literacy It is a form of Media Literacy, which encompasses the ability to locate, organize, comprehend, analyze, evaluate and produce information that is obtained through the use of the Internet.

Internet Literacy includes learning how to use Internet’s tools Internet Literacy includes learning how to use Internet’s tools. The list of Internet tools is never ending. New releases make something that was new yesterday old today. According to Livingstone, internet literacy also encompasses being knowledgable about the norms and values that are associated with the internet. COMPONENTS

E-safety The Internet can be a wonderful thing. People can use it for almost everything. But that access can also pose hazards. As the number of internet users continues to grow worldwide, internet safety is a growing concern for both children and adults. Safer Internet Day is celebrated worldwide in February to raise awareness about internet safety.
