Bay Area Bike Share Bay Area Bike Share is the region’s bike sharing system with 700 bikes and 70 stations across the region, with locations in San Francisco, Redwood City, Mountain View, Palo Alto, and San Jose. Intended to provide Bay Area residents and visitors with an additional transportation option for getting around the region. Bay Area Bike Share is fun, easy, and affordable.
Why Bike Share? Step towards “Go Green”. Spread awareness about Global Warming. Cheaper way to commute. Convenient for people who do not own a car. No need to carry the bike everywhere.

Data Spotlight What ? Highlight data on mouse click. Dim the rest. When? Very rich data graphics that shows relations Almost all graphs uses this design pattern Why? “Focus plus context”: Untangle data threads
Dynamic Queries What? Controls provided to filter the data. When? Users can filter out the data. Why? Interactive for users. Easy to learn controls.
Data Tips What? Show informational tooltip when mouse rolls over. Show relevant, additional information specific to a particular point. Why? Easy to view more info.
Bar Chart Guidelines What? It is used to see differences in their heights or lengths to compare quantities. When? Helpful in comparing bike usage during weekdays and weekends Why? Can easily perceive the difference.
Multi-Y Graph What? The graph shares same X axis. It is stacked vertically. When? Multiple graphs with different Y axis but same X axis. Why? So this graph shows the number of trips with same start station and different end stations.
