What is the Caste System? A system in which social classes are determined by birth. Has been around over 2000 years. Mahatma Gandhi (Kshatriya) worked to change rules and allow social mobility & grant rights to the “Untouchables”.

How did the caste system start? About 3000 years, warlike Aryan invaders battled their way through the Ganges River Valley, enslaving the native Dravidians, and imposed a rigid caste structure on the people.

According to an ancient text known as the Rigveda, the Caste System was based on Brahma’s (the creator of the universe) divine manifestation.
