Comparing U.S. and VA. Courts An exercise that will help you remember…

You will do this activity in the hopes it will help you remember the characteristics of the VA and US Court Systems!  First, you will need two pieces of colored paper; pick any two colors/sheets you want… Step 1

Now…follow my directions: *Fold both sheets vertically, in half, but don’t let it reach the other side (you are making pockets) *Fold one sheet in three parts *Fold the other sheet in four parts Step 2

On the front of the envelope that is folded into three parts, please title: U.S./Federal Court System On the front of the envelop that is folded into four parts, please title: VA./State Court System On the U.S. envelope, on each section, please title it: U.S. District Court, U.S. Court of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court Do the same on the VA envelope, title: General District Court/Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court, Circuit Court, Court of Appeals, and VA Supreme Court Step 3

You will now get two sheets of paper, one that is titled U. S You will now get two sheets of paper, one that is titled U.S. Court System…the other VA. Court System Cut each characteristic out…between each line Can you correctly match the characteristic with each envelope? Step 4
