Information: Leaflets Date: Objectives Define and understand ‘Leaflets’ for use in the Leaving Cert. Create a leaflet promoting themselves and a business idea. Warm-up Can anyone explain what a leaflet is and give examples before we start?

Why Leaflets are important According to research (DLM in the UK) 80% of people glance over and keep leaflets about products, compared to 40% of people to pay attention to TV ads and 20% of people to pay attention to newspaper ads. 60% of people will buy the product if vouchers or free samples are given as well.

Step One – Folding Paper With 3 pages in the middle. 1) Divide paper in three 2) Fold both ends towards middle 3) The left side will be the front, the right side will be the back, With 3 pages in the middle.

Step Two – what goes inside Make two leaflets to practise. One on a business and one on yourself. There should be five bits of text, with pictures, diagrams, fake statistics, contact information, etc. At least half the front page should be a logo/name. Some text down the bottom. 3 points on the three inside pages. Contact info (your timetable) or a final point on the back. (To mass produce, print, photocopy, then fold)

It’s healthy to express yourself. Cooldown question: It’s healthy to express yourself. Do you agree? Why/Why not?
