Floor plans Floor plans contain tremendous information about the design and construction of a building or space. In detail construction drawings, floor plans are drawn to scale and shows: Walls Doors Windows Plumbing fixtures Appliances Stairs Cabinetry Any other interior feature
All these information are represented using specific symbols to keep the plan simple. Line types and line weights are another important aspects that is used to relay information on the floor plans. Different patterns can be used to indicate change in floor treatments. Some other information are spelled/ listed on the plan with legends provided for reference.

Dimensioning the Plan Dimensioning of floor plans are important to construct the window, doors and other features in the exact locations. Dimensioning also help to read the plan even if the drawing is not to scale. Dimension lines are drafted lighter than the wall lines and will be continuous strings of numbers. It is always better to dimension outside the plan and leave the interior uncluttered.
Furniture installation plan Furniture is often included a part of the FF&E package (Furniture, Furnishings and Equipment). Furniture plan process: Ascertain the activities of the space. Preliminary furniture plan with number, groups and orientation of furniture. Scaled furniture plan with exact dimensions and a furniture schedule. Control book / catalog which list the specifications of the furniture and furnishings.

Electrical and Reflected ceiling plans Electrical plans include lighting, electrical outlets, telephone line and other communication networks like computers, internet etc. Reflected ceiling plan will include the lighting design.
