The Art of Zentangle

Tangle Tangle - In its verb form “tangle” means to draw a tangle. You tangle a tangle, and in that process create Zentangle art. In its noun form this word is used as a replacement for “pattern.”
String String - A string is generally a random line drawn in pencil which creates an area within which you draw your tangles (patterns).
Portfolio Cover Project A portfolio is a collection of an artist’s art work. A portfolio folder contains the artist’s art work. For this project, you must create a Zentangle drawing on the cover (front) of your portfolio folder. You must demonstrate your knowledge of the elements and principles of design through creating tangles (patterns).
Success Criteria Complete the elements and principles design matrix. create tangles (patterns) that use the elements and principles Create an outline/frame for your Zentangle drawing It should be something recognizable (eg. butterfly) Use at least 8 tangles for your final portfolio cover At least 5 of these tangles should come from your design matrix Outline your strings and tangles using black pen, India ink, or a black sharpie Note: you may use pencil crayons if you decide to apply the element of colour for some of your tangles.
