Logging into Google Drive Go to Google Drive directly using the URL (http://drive.google.com) Log into your school account Go to Google.com Click the 9 squares for the drop down menu Find the Google Drive logo
The Layout
Navigation My Drive: Takes you to the main page with your files Shared with Me: All the files that you have been given access to Recent: Quick access to the files that you have recently used Google Photos: A back-up location for your photos (must set up) Starred: Quick access to designated files Trash: Just what you think….
Creating New Files and Folders Click “New” or “My Drive” to create Folder Upload a file or folder Access Google Apps Docs Sheets Slides Forms Drawing Maps Sites
Creating a Folder Click “New” or “My Drive” to create A box will pop up to name the folder; type in the folder’s name The New Folder will pop up at the top of your Drive Provides quick access to all folders
Right Clicking on a File Right Clicking on a file opens a menu Open with an app or using Google Share with any Google account Create a shareable link Move to a new location Add a Star to add to Starred folder Rename the file View details Make a Copy Download off of Drive Delete
Uploading a File Click “New” or “My Drive” Select “file upload” A dialogue box will pop up to find the file you want to upload Click on file and press “Open” A new dialogue box will open at the bottom to show the upload (see picture) A dialogue box like this will pop up when you move a file to a new location as well
Folder Options Once you have created a folder, you can do several things Tip: you can organize your folders by changing the color of the folder
